Wow!

Did you see our amazing carnival basket? Thank you for all your generous donations. Special thanks to the McKnight family for building an amazing basket that truly looked like "Perrydise!'' It makes my job so much easier with all the support.
I have been attending a lot of trainings this month to add some fun things to our class. This year our class will be writing an opera, having a professional put it to music, designing and building a set and performing it for parents and the school. We will also be learning about stocks and playing two sessions of the "stock market game". It's going to be a wild ride in fourth grade but what a learning adventure! Buckle up and join us.

Congratulations!
We are sending August packing and welcoming the cooler air of temperature September.
Since our room is a humid nightmare it can't happen soon enough.  It was great  meeting with everyone at SEP's.  Our year is off to a great start.  We have done all of our pretesting, learned the rules of our class, made new friends, and done tons of writing.  I can tell it's going to be AWESOME!
This month we will be learning about Utah's landforms and making salt dough maps. Don't forget to study spelling nightly, read for 30-40 minutes and practice our math facts.

WELCOME TO PERRYDISE 2012!
I am so excited to be starting a new year with 24 amazing new students!
I've gotten my list and checked it twice and I'm pretty sure I have the best fourth grade at RMES.
I can't wait for the first day of school to meet all of you.  We will be doing lots of writing and assessments this week as well as getting to know each other.  I know we will all be tired from doing all that brainwork so I'll be sure to throw in lots of fun stuff to make it bearable.  Be thinking about what you would like to accomplish this year.  What do you want to learn?  Be better at?   What can you teach our class? I hope you're excited to make new friends and learn all about Utah and the pioneers.  School starts at 9:00.
Be here bright and early so you don't miss the fun. Can't wait to see you.  Don't forget the openhouse

Spring is here!  We have been so busy in our class, and I know it's long past time for me to update what is happening in Perrydise! I am so proud of our class and the way Kasia, Sadie, Maxx, and Mason represented us in the Geobee!  1st place that was earned by studying and working as a team.  Kasia, then went on to take 2nd in the district competition.  Thank you for showing up for your child's SEP.   Our class had a great turnout for Miles for Molly.  I'm sure the school made a nice donation to Mrs. Dixon.  Keep having your child do First in Math,  Read for 30 minutes each night and practice their spelling.   I see great brainwork every day.  Thanks for sharing great kids with me!  If your would like to join us for any field trips let me know.
